A splash block is generally manufactured using concrete. They are shaped like a rectangle widening out at one end and with a lip rising on three sides. This allows the water to funnel from the back of the splash to the front and away from the building. Splash blocks are available in a number of different colors, styles and sizes. Generally newly constructed buildings will include basic concrete splash blocks with no color. If rain is not drained away from the wall of a building, the standing water can damage the foundation or cause damp basement walls.
